HPE has launched the Wi-Fi 7 access point "HPE Networking 723H" with AI-based autonomous operations as its first integrated product since acquiring Juniper, The Register reported on May 8 local time.
The product is delivered via the cloud. It is designed for hotels, branch offices and work-from-home environments. It can be managed through both Aruba Central and the Mist platform.
Mital Parekh (미탈 파렉), head of marketing for HPE Campus and Branch Networking, introduced three autonomous-operations scenarios.
He cited dynamic capacity optimisation that scans the surrounding radio frequency environment to automatically avoid frequencies prioritised by military agencies and others. The feature also detects user crowding during large events such as companywide meetings and automatically adjusts to maintain connection quality.
It also offers an automated recovery function that detects VLAN mismatches or omissions and restores the network before traffic disruptions occur, he said. He added that it automatically detects and blocks abnormal DHCP servers.
Parekh said, "These are tasks that IT teams currently have to handle manually. Administrators can intervene if they want, but we hope they will build trust as the network gradually handles things on its own and focus on more valuable work."
Jeff Aaron (제프 애런), head of marketing for HPE's networking business unit, highlighted that the company released an integrated product within months of completing the Juniper acquisition, noting that Cisco took years to integrate its own branded Wi-Fi and Meraki.
