Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched a feature that lets AI agents make payments using stablecoins in partnership with Coinbase and Stripe, The Block reported on Wednesday.
AWS unveiled Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Payments. It is designed to let AI agents use web content, APIs, MCP servers and other agents, and pay instantly. AWS said Coinbase and Stripe provide wallet infrastructure and payment infrastructure.
Coinbase said developers can use the x402 protocol to build an agentic payment solution that enables AI agents to execute micropayments in the USDC stablecoin.
Developers can choose a Coinbase or Stripe wallet and top up the wallet with stablecoins or fiat currency. AWS called it a managed payment feature designed specifically for autonomous agents. AI agent micropayments can be processed down to amounts below 1 cent.
