The National Police Workplace Council and law firm B&H signed a memorandum of understanding to improve the rights and interests of police officers. The signing ceremony was held on April 22 at the National Police Agency’s Chamsuri conference room.
Under the agreement, the two organisations will cooperate in four areas: legal advice and consultation, legal responses to civil and criminal cases, running education and seminars, and legislative consulting related to system improvements.
Min Kwan-gi (민관기), head of the National Police Workplace Council, said police officers have been exposed to issues of civil and criminal liability during the course of carrying out their duties, while facing an environment in which it has been difficult to receive sufficient legal assistance. He said the agreement would create a foundation for members to carry out their duties more stably.
Han Tae-hwa (한태화), B&H’s managing partner, said the firm would be a reliable supporter so police officers can focus on their duties without legal difficulties.
B&H is a full-service law firm founded primarily by legal professionals with backgrounds in the prosecution and courts. It provides legal services in criminal, civil, administrative and tax matters.
