Defense vertical AI company Funjin said on April 28 it signed a business partnership with the 39th Infantry Division on defense AI technology.

The 39th Infantry Division and Funjin will seek cooperation in areas including education on the latest technology trends such as AI technologies and solutions, regular technical advice and expert exchanges through joint seminars and workshops, and expanded mutual cooperation. The strategy is to go beyond simple technical support and raise practical AI capabilities through field-focused education.

Funjin will also provide the division's service members with education on AI technology and the latest defense technology trends. It shared directions for developing a military world foundation model through its AI command decision support system, KWM (Kill-Web Matching), and its AI synthetic data generation platform, EagleEye.

Funjin Chief Executive Deuk-hwa Kim (김득화) said, "AI has recently been proven to be a core technology that changes the future battlefield landscape, making cooperation between the military and companies more important than anything." He added, "With this agreement as a starting point, we will expand technology exchanges and joint research, and push ahead with the application and advancement of defense AI."
