[DigitalToday reporter Ho-jung Lee] JoyCity said it will start official service on April 28, the birthday of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, for the historical massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) 'Imjin War: Joseon's Counterattack,' developed by Red Ginkgo Games.

The game is a title developed by director Kim Tae-gon (김태곤), who made 'Imjinrok' and 'Gersang.' It features strategic elements that combine real heroes and actual weapons based on an encounter combat system. Players control hero movement and attacks in real time to fight enemies.

Battlefields are implemented, including 'field sieges' in which players cooperate with members of a group, and 'naval battles' in which they command Joseon and Japanese ships. It also includes an economic system in which players gather materials through collecting and hunting to manufacture goods.

JoyCity plans to appoint history lecturer Choi Tae-sung (최태성) as a promotional model to deliver the game's historical background and add historical accuracy and mass appeal. To mark the start of official service, it will run an event that provides in-game items on login, including 2 senior appointment certificates, 10 standard appointment certificates and 5,000 gold coins.

Kim Tae-gon said, "We have put in great effort to bring historical accuracy and the core fun of MMORPGs to life, so we will deliver immersion and enjoyment."
