Nexon said on April 28 it will revamp the Nexon Computer Museum as the "Nexon Museum". The Nexon Museum is set to reopen on May 12 after about four months of renewal work.
A key feature of the exhibition is that visitors can log in with their own Nexon accounts to bring together play records scattered across many games, offering a personalised experience. The matched intellectual property (IP) appears in various forms from the start to the end of the exhibition, accompanying the overall experience. Visitors registered as guests will receive random IP printouts, offering a chance to learn about Nexon's various games.
The Nexon Museum will be reborn as a gaming brand hub that reinterprets Nexon's 30-year heritage through modern media, beyond being Asia's first computer museum. Unlike existing museums focused on the history of technology, it defines the "player" as the agent that creates the fun of games and focuses on games as a culture made together by them.
It will present an offline space where visitors can see more than 40 IP in one place, including "The Kingdom of the Winds", "KartRider", "MapleStory", "Mabinogi" and "Dungeon & Fighter", which mark their 30th anniversary this year. Along with the rebranding, the Nexon Museum will also unveil a new logo that means a moment when the real world and the virtual world intersect.
Park Doo-san (박두산), director of the Nexon Museum, said, "The Nexon Museum is not simply a space that exhibits games, but a space where each player's experiences and memories are alive." He added, "We will continue to present fresh content and experiences so it can be reborn as a game culture hub that any gamer should visit at least once."
