LG Innotek said on April 27 it recorded first-quarter revenue of 5.53 trillion won and operating profit of 295.3 billion won in 2026. Revenue rose 11.1 percent from a year earlier and operating profit jumped 136 percent, with revenue the highest ever for a first quarter. From the previous quarter, revenue fell 27.3 percent and operating profit declined 9.1 percent.

Despite a seasonal off-peak, demand for mobile camera modules held up and strong supply of high value-added semiconductor substrates coincided, beating market expectations. The company said strong supply of high value-added semiconductor substrates such as RF-SiP, FC-CSP and FC-BGA is continuing.

In its business segments, the optical solutions business posted revenue of 4.61 trillion won, up 11.4 percent from a year earlier. Despite the off-peak season, solid demand for mobile camera modules and higher vehicle camera revenue combined to set a first-quarter record.

Revenue from the package solutions business rose 16 percent from a year earlier to 437.1 billion won. While supply of high value-added communications semiconductor substrates such as RF-SiP showed strength, expanded FC-CSP supply to new applications such as high-performance memory continued. FC-BGA revenue has been rising gradually, centered on PC products, and the company is also pushing to expand supply of high-end products for AI and servers.

The mobility solutions business posted 487.1 billion won, up 4.2 percent from a year earlier. High value-added vehicle lighting modules drove growth. The order backlog stood at 19.2 trillion won as of the end of last year, and it plans to actively expand new orders this year with autonomous driving solutions.

CEO Moon Hyuk-soo (문혁수) said in March that as revenue from automotive AP module sales begins in earnest from the fourth quarter, the mobility solutions business will continue its growth trend.

LG Innotek is making the strengthening of a high-profit business portfolio its core strategy this year. It aims to focus on expanding business centered on the package solutions business, which has high profitability and growth potential.

It is also accelerating expansion of its physical AI business. The strategy is to broaden its business areas into autonomous driving and robots, led by complex sensing modules that cover vehicle cameras, LiDAR and radar.

Chief Financial Officer Eun-guk Kyung (경은국) said the company is pushing to expand semiconductor substrate capacity to respond to surging demand amid a semiconductor boom. He also said it will raise the package solutions business' contribution to operating profit to the level of the optical solutions business within 5 years.
