Pearl Abyss paid a special bonus of 5 million won per employee to all staff to commemorate 5 million copies sold of 'Red Desert'.

Industry sources said on April 27 that Pearl Abyss paid the bonus to all employees on April 23. Based on a total headcount of 733 employees in the company’s year-end business report, the total payout is about 3.7 billion won.

'Red Desert' is seen as a hit title that set a milestone for South Korea’s game industry by selling 5 million copies in 26 days after launch.

Pearl Abyss CEO Jin-young Heo (허진영) said, "I express deep respect and gratitude for the hard work of each and every one of you who created a result the world is enthusiastic about, and I will pay a 'congratulations bonus for reaching 5 million sales' to all employees who quietly fulfilled their roles in their respective positions."

He added, "Our journey does not end here. This possibility we confirmed today will be the most powerful driving force to overcome any challenge we face in the future."
