The Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said on April 27 they will recruit projects to take part in the "2026 global game localisation support" programme, which helps South Korean games expand overseas, through May 8.

The programme will support a total of three rounds of overseas user evaluations (FGT) for about 30 game projects. It will cover five regions: North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Central and South America.

Selected projects will be offered 1 offline evaluation and 2 online evaluations. For each online session, at least 100 local users will take part and provide feedback. KOCCA will check language, difficulty and immersion factors through a pre-assessment. Based on the results, it will analyse each game's localisation level and marketability and provide materials outlining directions for improvement.

Eligible applicants are projects with no history of official release in the region applied for. Projects may apply if they have been released in other regions or in South Korea, as long as they have not been released in the region applied for and have a playable build that can be evaluated.

Yu Hyun-seok (유현석), acting head of KOCCA, said, "Overseas user evaluations are a process for checking completeness and local suitability before entering the market." He added, "We will support South Korean game developers so they can improve completeness by reflecting user responses."
