Samsung Electronics will launch a travel service, Samsung Wallet Trips, to manage travel-related information in a single app. Samsung Electronics on Sunday unveiled a service that integrates travel information previously scattered across multiple platforms, including airline boarding passes, hotel reservation details, and admission tickets for theme parks and sports events, into the Samsung Wallet app.
Galaxy users can manage overall travel schedules through the feature without switching to separate apps. Users create a travel item in Samsung Wallet and then check their schedule using the Trip Timeline feature. It sorts and provides travel information based on time and location. It also supports adding detailed schedules and memo functions, allowing users to record related links or information directly. Samsung Electronics said it reduced the inconvenience of managing scattered travel information.
Samsung Electronics said it has integrated the service with global partners so hotel and flight booking confirmations and activity tour tickets can be registered directly in Samsung Wallet. It plans to expand the scope of partner cooperation sequentially. On security, it said it protects user data based on its Samsung Knox security platform and applies encryption and biometric authentication so only the device owner can access travel information.
Chae Won-cheol (채원철), a vice president and head of the Digital Wallet Team at Samsung Electronics' MX business division, said, "Through the Samsung Wallet Trips service, we will support Galaxy users to manage travel information smartly and focus only on the enjoyment of travel."
