Mcloudoc, a central document solution company, has completed building an N2SF-based central document system for the National Science and Technology Council (NST).

The project applies the National Network Security Framework (N2SF), which differentiates security levels by data importance, to public research institutions in line with the National Intelligence Service’s national cyber security guidelines set to take full effect in May.

Mcloudoc implemented a next-generation network separation environment based on "N2SF Model 8," verified in a Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) demonstration project. It built independent central document systems for the business network (S grade) and the internet network (O grade) and designed the system to securely relay file transfers between the networks.

The project combines the security operating system "GooroomOS" developed by the National Security Research Institute with Mcloudoc’s central document technology. It linked GooroomOS’s local storage control function with Mcloudoc’s central management technology to create a "NO DATA" environment in which data does not remain on a PC’s local disk, blocking the possibility of data leakage.

A Mcloudoc official said, "Based on this NST deployment, we plan to expand the security model to public institutions preparing for an N2SF transition, including research institutions, administrative agencies and public enterprises."
