LG Uplus said on Tuesday it recently signed a memorandum of understanding with MongoDB on cooperation in data management related to artificial intelligence (AI) services. It said it will pursue advancement of its AI services and modernisation of its system architecture.
LG Uplus said the agreement will allow it to expand companywide its data-use experience verified in its AI contact centre (AICC). It plans to improve its dispersed data operation structure to increase the response efficiency and operational stability of its AI services.
MongoDB provides an "AI-ready unified data platform" that supports building, deploying and scaling AI applications. It supports flexible storage and fast search of various forms of data.
Earlier, LG Uplus applied the cloud-based platform MongoDB Atlas to its AICC to run its 상담 어드바이저 service. The service provides real-time access to past consultation contents and conversation records, and after consultations it helps with follow-up tasks such as summarising conversations and recommending consultation codes. LG Uplus said it improved resource efficiency by about 30 percent and reduced average consultation handling time by about 7 percent.
The two companies will also cooperate on architecture modernisation to convert legacy systems into structures suited to an AI environment, beyond improving existing AI services.
Lee Sang-yeop (이상엽), LG Uplus' chief technology officer, said, "Based on the data-use experience verified by applying it to the AICC, we plan to expand it to companywide AI services." He added, "We will focus on improving the quality of AI services that customers can feel."
