Tmap Mobility said on April 21 it has revamped the TMAP home screen by placing the map at the forefront and reorganising key service menus by category.

Under the overhaul, users can pull down the home screen content area to use the map across the full mobile display. Previously, users had to enter individual services such as navigation to view the map. The map now has a place search bar at the top.

TMAP doubled the number of place names that appear automatically on the map, allowing users to explore locations simply by moving the screen with touch. It also standardised the shape and colour of place icons so users can distinguish business types and characteristics. Selecting a place on the map shows details on one screen, including reviews, opening hours, parking availability and the number of vehicles currently en route.

Users can also handle route searches, saving places, sharing links and entering navigation on the same screen. The overhaul also reshaped the service menu. About 20 core services are grouped into categories such as "Tmap Recommendations", "Convenient Travel" and "All Benefits", allowing quicker access to desired services.

The company plans to further strengthen map integration across the home screen, search, "Where to Go" and navigation. It also plans to steadily expand real-time travel information and place content.

Changgeun Jeon (전창근), Tmap Mobility chief product officer, said, "The map is a key interface that helps users explore places in their daily lives beyond directions." He added, "We will continue to enhance map usability and develop it into a service that offers value beyond navigation."
