Google said on Tuesday it will expand in South Korea the rollout of the latest Chrome features that help users explore information using AI.

With the update, Google is introducing “Gemini in Chrome,” integrating AI into the Chrome browser. It supports webpage summaries, comparing information across tabs, help with drafting emails and image conversion, enabling users to find, understand and use information on the web more easily.

The company said the browser is where much of daily life takes place, including work, study, search and shopping. But reading and understanding long texts, or comparing and organizing multiple sources of information, often remains cumbersome and repetitive.

The update takes those conditions into account and is based on Gemini 3.1, the latest AI model. It will be offered first on desktop and iOS, and on Android users can summon Gemini by pressing and holding the power button even while using various apps, including Chrome.

Users can use Gemini built into the browser’s side panel to summarise the webpage they are viewing or organise needed information without switching tabs. They can also get contextual help, such as creating practice questions for exam study or asking how to turn a recipe into a vegan version.

Integration with Google services such as Gmail, Maps, Calendar and YouTube has also been strengthened. Without leaving the page they are viewing, users can continue tasks inside the browser such as drafting an email, adding an event to Calendar, checking a location on Maps and asking questions about a YouTube video.

Chrome includes Nano Banana 2, allowing users to convert images directly in the browser without uploading a separate file or switching tabs. Google plans to add more features within the year and continue expanding supported languages and regions.
