Netflix held a mentoring talk concert for visually impaired students at the Jongno campus of the National School for the Blind in Seoul on April 17, it said on Sunday.

About 100 middle and high school students and teachers attended. Democratic Party lawmaker Seo Mi-hwa (서미화) and announcer Heo Woo-ryeong (허우령) served as mentors, introducing career possibilities that use the voice, including audio description narration. Heo also gave a live demonstration of audio description for the Netflix documentary "Our Ocean" in which she took part.

Seo said, "I was afraid, but from my teenage years I kept speaking up for my rights." She added, "I will create a society where disability does not become a barrier to dreams." Heo said, "I hope you have the courage to carve out a new path by finding your own way rather than fitting yourself to a fixed route." She added, "Through Netflix audio description, I first came to feel the excitement of wanting to travel."

Netflix has been running an audio description training program for visually impaired people with partners for a second consecutive year, and this year's program is scheduled to begin in May.
