Kiwoom Securities said on April 19 it successfully concluded the barrier-free short-distance marathon '2026 Kiwoom Run,' where disabled and non-disabled people run together.

Barrier-free refers to a state without physical or institutional barriers that cause inconvenience to people with disabilities. The Kiwoom Run was held on April 18, two days ahead of the Day of Persons with Disabilities, around the Culture Plaza area of Yeouido Park in Seoul. It was the second event following last year.

A total of 5,000 participants started in order by 5 km and 10 km courses. The scale was 2.5 times larger than last year’s 2,025 participants, and registration again closed early after reaching capacity on a first-come, first-served basis.

Kiwoom Securities donated all event costs to the organiser, the incorporated association Mooui. It also donated all entry fees paid by participants. The donations will be used for activities to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, including producing a Seoul subway transfer map for transportation-disadvantaged users such as wheelchair and stroller users.

Ju-sung Eom (엄주성), CEO of Kiwoom Securities, said, "We will continue to provide support so that the Kiwoom Run can establish itself as a leading venue for integration that breaks down the barrier of disability."
