The Ministry of Science and ICT will participate in the 2026 NAB Show, the world's largest broadcasting equipment exhibition, to introduce Korean companies' innovative broadcast and media technologies to the global market.
The 2026 NAB Show is hosted by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and runs from April 18 to 22 local time at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) in the United States. About 1,100 companies from around 160 countries will take part, and about 55,000 people are expected to attend. Visitors can check the latest technology trends across the broadcasting industry, including digital and UHD broadcasting equipment and solutions.
South Korea has operated the Korea Broadcasting Technology Theme Pavilion with NAB since 2016 to showcase domestic companies' broadcast equipment and solutions overseas. This year, 49 companies and institutions, including the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), broadcasters and broadcast media companies, will work together to promote 12 next-generation technologies and services combined with AI technology.
The showcased technologies include generative AI-based automatic creation of special effects, AI-based media transformation, AI-based media dubbing solutions and ATSC 3.0-based dynamic ad insertion (DAI). The exhibit will also feature AI-based real-time multilingual dubbing, high-precision GPS (RTK) location information services and AI-powered personalised services.
The ministry will also hold a briefing with NAB, inviting overseas journalists, to raise the profile of Korean broadcasting technology. GeminiSoft and others, which are pursuing technology commercialisation with ministry support this year, plan to expand export opportunities by combining that with joint promotion with overseas companies.
The ministry plans to strengthen domestic companies' technological capabilities through support for innovative R&D and to support their entry into global markets through continued overseas promotion.
