Hana Bank said on Nov. 28 it signed an agreement on Nov. 27 at the Hana The Next Euljiro Lounge with the Seoul Metropolitan Center for Dementia to promote dementia management and support senior‑focused dementia‑safe financial services.

The deal is based on the bank’s financial infrastructure and the center’s expertise in dementia management. It aims to create a dementia‑friendly financial environment through education for seniors, improved awareness and stage‑based financial support.

The two sides plan work on dementia education and awareness, financial and asset‑management support for patients and families, exchanges to strengthen capabilities and mutual understanding among staff, and joint projects to improve awareness.

They also plan to expand senior‑focused dementia‑safe financial services. These include a memory‑friend leader training course, joint planning of cognitive health and financial protection programmes, dementia‑safe counselling at branches and lounges, and campaigns linked with medical and welfare institutions.

A ceremony was also held to mark the designation of the Seoul Jung‑gu Dementia Safety Center and Hana Bank as dementia‑friendly companies. The designation is given by the National Institute of Dementia under the Ministry of Health and Welfare to companies that support awareness and safety nets for dementia‑affected households. Hana Bank plans to expand dementia‑related education, counselling and campaigns from the Euljiro lounge to all Hana The Next lounges.

A Hana Bank official said the bank will continue to expand its dementia‑safe finance model to protect the memories and daily lives of seniors through Hana The Next, and said it will keep contributing to improving the quality of life of dementia patients and their families in local communities.
