IBK Industrial Bank of Korea said on April 17 it will run the "IBK Card Oil빵빵(5100)" event, a fuel support promotion based on its IBK Card app, to ease customers' fuel cost burdens due to rising international oil prices.
The event is for IBK Card app members. Those who apply through the app and spend at least 150,000 won at fuel-related merchants will receive 5,100 IBK points, offered on a first-come, first-served basis to 10,000 customers.
It has no requirement for spending performance in the previous month. Customers can take part using a general card, not only a fuel-specific card, to improve accessibility. Accumulated points can be used for cash back or to pay card bills.
The bank will also draw 1,000 applicants to additionally provide mobile fuel coupons: 50,000 won for 200 winners, 30,000 won for 300 winners and 10,000 won for 500 winners.
A bank official said, "We prepared this event to reduce the burden customers feel in a high oil price situation." The official added, "We will continue to expand financial benefits closely tied to daily life."
