Naver said on April 17 it revamped personal data-related question types on its online survey service Naver Form on April 8.
With the update, it strengthened question-type functions for consent to collect and provide personal data. It also added a new question type for notices on personal data collection and outsourcing.
For questions seeking consent to collect and provide personal data, “I do not agree” is provided as the default answer. Survey designers can add or delete items. The service supports branching that moves respondents to different pages based on results. Survey designers can structure consent procedures, including ending the survey or switching to a separate guidance page if consent is not given. The changes apply from questions newly added from April 8.
The new question type for personal data collection and outsourcing notices can be used to notify respondents of personal data collection, use and processing outsourcing. Survey designers can list items that require notice separately from consent items.
Jin-gyu Lee (이진규), Naver's chief privacy officer, said, "We revamped it so individuals, companies and institutions using Naver Form can easily implement lawful processing requirements under the Personal Information Protection Act within surveys." He said, "Personal data processing and the selection and application of lawful processing requirements are the responsibility of the survey designer, so we ask users to comply with relevant laws and regulations."
