Pearl Abyss said on Tuesday that global cumulative sales of Red Desert reached 5 million copies.

The company said it achieved the 5 million-copy milestone 26 days after release. It said this was a faster pace than the five months it took Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to sell 5 million copies, comparing it with a title that won Game of the Year at last year's global game awards The Game Awards (TGA).

According to global streaming data analytics platform ContentFlux, 5,700 Twitch streams and 108,000 YouTube videos were created from March 20 to April 14.

The number of YouTube videos created was tallied at 23.3 percent in the United States, 9.5 percent in Brazil, 5.1 percent in South Korea, 4.6 percent in India and 4.4 percent in Britain. By YouTube views, the United States accounted for 46.3 percent, South Korea 17.9 percent, Britain 8.7 percent, Brazil 6.0 percent and France 4.5 percent.

Pearl Abyss also announced on April 10 plans for new content, quality-of-life features and gameplay improvements. Updates will roll out sequentially from April to June.
