Korea Financial Investment Association discusses cooperation on Indonesia new capital development with ambassador

The Korea Financial Investment Association said on Tuesday that Chairman Hwang Sung-youp (황성엽) met Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea Cecep Herawan to discuss ways to expand investment cooperation between the two countries, including Indonesia’s new capital relocation project.

Indonesia explained its investment and industrial policies and its strategy to attract foreign investment, and expressed its willingness to expand cooperation with Korea’s financial investment industry.

Hwang expressed interest in major development projects, including the construction of Indonesia’s new capital Nusantara, and said the two sides would explore various forms of cooperation, including real asset investment.

Nusantara is a new capital being built on the island of Borneo to address overcrowding and flooding problems in Jakarta.

"Indonesia is a key growth market in Southeast Asia, where large-scale investment opportunities are opening up, including the development of the new capital," Hwang said. "This meeting will serve as a momentum to broaden areas of investment cooperation between the two countries and identify specific cooperation tasks."
