KB Kookmin Bank said on April 15 it held a launch ceremony on April 14 for a programme supporting youth beginning to live independently, to help them make a stable entry into society.
The programme began last year and is now in its second year. It is a social contribution initiative that supports youth preparing for independence after their protection period ends, helping them settle into society and strengthen their self-reliance capabilities.
The ceremony, held at KB Kookmin Bank's new building in Yeouido, Seoul, was attended by 200 participants from across the country. Participating youth will receive self-reliance grants and a year of tailored career planning support, including career exploration, academic achievement, certification acquisition, employment consulting and links to work experience.
This year, the bank newly included financial education in the career planning process to strengthen the foundation for economic independence. It plans to support youth in improving practical financial understanding and forming sound financial habits.
A KB Kookmin Bank official said the programme was designed to provide practical help to self-reliance youth in the early stages of entering society. The official added the bank would continue to grow together with local communities by supporting youth and expanding inclusive finance.
