Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baemin, said on April 10 it held a signing ceremony on April 9 for its 2026 wage and collective agreement. It was the first time the company and its labour union reached a wage and collective agreement since the company’s founding.
Union and management representatives including Lee Yoon-joon (이윤준), head of Woowa Brothers’ People division, Shin Hwan-seop (신환섭), chairman of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions-affiliated Korean Chemical and Food Workers Union, and Park Jang-hyuk (박장혁), head of the Woowa Brothers branch union (Woowa Union), attended the ceremony at Pangyo Startup Square in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. Startup Square, the venue for the signing ceremony, is a facility Woowa Brothers recently opened to foster startups.
The collective agreement specifically defines situations such as disruptions and disasters that can affect delivery platform service operations. It also reflects terms under which the union actively cooperates if such situations arise even when it is in a labour dispute. It was the result of both sides agreeing to place as the top value a sense of responsibility that stable platform operations are directly linked to customers and partner merchants’ delivery orders and riders securing work.
The sides also agreed to raise annual pay and welfare points and to pay a one-off 200,000 won Baemin gift certificate to help boost delivery consumption.
Lee said, "I find it meaningful that this wage and collective agreement also includes items aimed at the continued development of, and coexistence in, the delivery ecosystem we are part of."
