Min Ki-sik, CEO of SK Shieldus.

SK Shieldus CEO Min Ki-sik said on Monday in a 2026 New Year address that the company would go beyond responding to the speed and direction of change and move toward reading the flow of change and proactively presenting standards.

In his first New Year address to employees since taking office, Min said expectations from society and customers for security have already moved to a different stage alongside technological advances. He said the standards under which security must function are rising to the point that the company cannot be complacent about current results.

He said 2026 should be a year to quickly read the flow of change and first establish what standards and responsibilities the company will use to provide services. He said those standards would be proven not by declarations but by the accumulated results of how people work and the choices they make. Min also said last year was a period that made the company think again about what it must protect, and he expressed gratitude for employees who did their best in their roles even in difficult circumstances.

Min presented three directions for change. He said the company would make customer trust the starting point for every decision and consistently embed compliance, safety and security across work. He said it would establish principles that had remained in documents and rules as standards that operate in practice, strengthen on-site safety and risk management systems, and ensure procedures become a foundation for stable operations rather than a burden.

On the business front, he also said the company would fundamentally review the way it has produced results across cybersecurity and physical security. In cybersecurity, it will lead the formation of a new market category of subscription-based security for small and mid-sized companies. In physical security, it will seek expandable business opportunities in line with changes in population structure and the social environment and strengthen its business portfolio.

Through these steps, the company plans to redefine its customer base, service structure and operating methods. It also plans to build a business strategy that proactively designs security standards and strengthen its role in providing sustainable security stably across society.

Min said the process of setting standards and making them part of the organisation's fabric in a changing era and environment cannot be completed in a short period but is a path the company must take. He said he would steadily listen to internal and external voices and responsibly ensure the company's changes lead in a direction that makes employees' daily lives more solid.
