Netmarble said on April 9 it has wrapped up an online showcase for its in-development new RPG 'Mongil: Star Dive'.
'Mongil: Star Dive' is a sequel to 'Monster Taming'. Ahead of its official release on April 15, the showcase featured VTuber 'Miflat', YouTuber 'TesterHoon', Lee Dong-jo (이동조), a producer at Netmarble Monster, and Kang Dong-gi (강동기), head of Netmarble's business division, who introduced the game.
The story is implemented in 3D graphics based on Unreal Engine 5. Characters include 'Cloud', 'Berna', 'Mina' and 'Ophelia'. The core content is 'monster collecting' that involves capturing, collecting and fusing monsters. The event also revealed the identity of the legendary monster 'Reginula' for the first time.
The combat system uses a three-member party and a real-time tag method. It implements manual controls and includes combat elements such as 'part destruction' and 'weak point attacks'.
Ahead of release, it will run a live broadcast on April 13 featuring Japanese voice actors and influencers. After the official launch, it plans to operate a domestic pop-up store, an event zone and a goods event program. It also announced a collaboration cafe in Taiwan and previewed an Episode 6 update. It disclosed plans to expand to console platforms including PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Xbox.
The first event recruitment character after launch is 'Esde'. Players can obtain the character with 100 percent certainty by completing 90 summons. It will hold a bond event titled 'Welcome, to the Maid and Clover' and provide the profile decoration 'Esde: Maid's Smile' and growth goods.
As a showcase reward, it released a coupon code for 'Artifact: Overflowing Love'. It will provide the healer character 'Francis' for global pre-registration through the brand site.
