Cafe24 said on Tuesday it launched an OpenClo virtual private server (VPS) hosting service with the OpenClo artificial intelligence (AI) agent framework preinstalled. Users can connect major large language models (LLMs) within minutes and build and run personalised AI agents without complex coding or server knowledge.
OpenClo is an open-source AI agent framework. Unlike chatbots that stop at simple answers, it provides an action-based AI structure that connects various tools to carry out tasks such as web browsing, file processing and messenger reporting on a user's behalf. Since it was unveiled in January, it has drawn attention by logging about 340,000 stars, a popular metric, on the global open-source community GitHub as of this month.
OpenClo can link to more than 20 messaging channels, including WhatsApp, Telegram and Slack, and more than 30 large language models, including OpenAI, Anthropic and Google Gemini. Users can combine the channels and models they want to build their own intelligent AI agent environment.
Cafe24 lowered the complexity of building AI agents on OpenClo VPS. Previously, to deploy OpenClo on an in-house server, users had to go through technical steps such as configuring a Linux server environment, setting up a firewall, installing Docker, obtaining a secure sockets layer (SSL) certificate and connecting a domain. The tasks required specialised knowledge of servers and networks, creating a high barrier to entry for general users.
Cafe24 compressed the process into three steps: applying for the service and automatic server configuration, entering an application programming interface (API) key through web-based onboarding, and linking a messenger. It said even non-experts can complete the build with a few clicks.
The web-based onboarding, which supports beginners in getting started quickly, provides immediate linkage to 6 widely used large language models and the Telegram messenger. Users can then use OpenClo's detailed settings to flexibly build an environment suited to their purpose and level by using all supported messaging channels and AI models.
The company also explained that OpenClo VPS provides an AI agent environment designed with stable operation, security and performance in mind. Based on independent server infrastructure, it reduces the impact of power outages or network instability that can occur on a personal PC or in-house server environment. It automatically applies a container-based isolation structure to enhance safety even without separate security settings.
It is also operated on domestic infrastructure, providing fast and stable server response speeds. It has a service environment optimised for domestic users, including payments in won and one-on-one technical support in Korean. Users can use it without an English interface, dollar payments or language barriers that are required when using overseas virtual private servers (VPS).
Cafe24 said it plans to continue upgrading the OpenClo VPS service so that more users can easily experience AI agents, as interest in using AI agents continues to grow.
Cafe24 CEO Lee Jae-seok (이재석) said, "AI agents are quickly spreading as everyday tools that anyone can use, no longer limited to developers." He added, "Starting with OpenClo VPS, we will continue to create an environment where anyone can easily build AI and boost productivity in business and daily life."
