[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Amazon Web Services (AWS) CEO Matt Garman (맷 가먼) dismissed the view that Anthropic’s Claude Code threatens established enterprise software companies.
The Information reported on April 7 that Garman said at the HumanX conference in San Francisco that claims Claude Code could replace corporate customer relationship management (CRM) software such as Salesforce were “exaggerated.”
He cited incumbent software companies’ deep understanding of their fields, large customer bases and vast amounts of data.
"These companies know their domains and the details of their software better than anyone, putting them in a more advantageous position to build next-generation AI-based products," he said.
He warned companies that turn away from AI. "If you try to protect what you have and do not want to jump aggressively into AI, you will be at risk," Garman said. "If you are an executive at an existing enterprise software company, you should seriously ask yourself what you need to do differently."
