The Korea Fintech Industry Association said on Tuesday it elected Kucorn CEO Kim Jong-hyun (김종현) as its sixth chairman at a regular general meeting held at the Korea Federation of Banks building.

Kim was chosen through an on-site vote at the general meeting, winning 70.09 percent of ballots cast by member companies. His term is 2 years, running through Feb. 17, 2028.

The association also elected executives for its sixth board, including vice chair, directors and an auditor, through the general meeting.

Vidax was elected as a new vice-chair company, while 8Percent and Joyful I were elected as new director companies.

Kim said it was an honor to take on the responsibility in the meaningful year marking the association's 10th anniversary. He said he would connect voices from the field to policy and open a new era of progress by turning regulation into opportunity.
