NHN said on Tuesday it ran an office tour and career mentoring programme for local youths in partnership with the Seongnam Youth and Young Adult Foundation.

The event was held on Feb. 24 at NHN’s Pangyo office, the Play Museum, for 30 Seongnam youths interested in the IT industry. The participants ranged from curious elementary school students to middle school students beginning to think about their career paths. They toured office spaces reflecting NHN’s corporate culture and learned about the company’s philosophy.

In a subsequent job mentoring session, employees served as mentors and shared various IT industry roles and on-the-job experiences, drawing a strong response from participants. Questions ranged from how to prepare for a job at an IT company to detailed queries related to game development.

An NHN official said the company hoped the programme helped broaden youths’ perspectives on the industry and served as an opportunity to make their dreams as future IT professionals more concrete. The official said NHN would continue contributing to developing future talent and expanding educational opportunities through a range of community-linked social contribution activities.
