Daishin Securities said on Sunday it will operate a groupwide emergency response system, including energy savings, in line with the government’s shift to an emergency economic response framework.

It will first introduce a vehicle-use restriction scheme to save energy. Based on the last digit of a vehicle’s registration number, vehicles ending in 1 and 6 will be restricted on Mondays, 2 and 7 on Tuesdays, 3 and 8 on Wednesdays, 4 and 9 on Thursdays, and 5 and 0 on Fridays.

It will also manage electricity use flexibly by minimizing office lighting and adjusting heating and cooling temperatures. Business trips will be minimized, and videoconferencing will be used more actively.

Since last month, the group has been taking proactive energy-saving steps, including installing heat-blocking window film on the exterior of its Daishin 343 headquarters building.

It will also strengthen risk management to protect client assets as volatility in financial markets increases.

It plans to step up accident-prevention training and thoroughly manage client accounts. The emergency management response system will remain in place until the crisis alert is lowered to the “attention” level.

Jung Min-wook (정민욱), head of the management planning division, said that as domestic and external uncertainty is increasing due to the Middle East crisis, the group will support government policy through energy-saving efforts and fulfill its social responsibility to customers.
