Lenovo Korea launched two industrial AI edge computing solutions under its ThinkEdge line on Sunday. The new products adopt an on-device approach that performs AI computing where data is generated, reducing reliance on the cloud. Both models feature a fanless chassis and a wide operating temperature range, targeting harsh industrial environments where installing conventional servers is difficult.
The ThinkEdge SE30n Gen 2 is a 0.8-litre ultra-compact fanless edge device based on Intel Core processors. Its NPU-based AI acceleration performance is up to 26 TOPS (dNPU), and it supports up to 48GB of DDR5 memory and a dual storage setup. Its operating temperature range is 0 to 50 degrees, and its dust protection rating is IP50.
It supports VESA mounting and DIN rail installation, allowing deployment in space-constrained environments such as behind monitors, inside equipment and on walls. It can also connect via WWAN (4G/5G), enabling operation at remote sites without wired infrastructure.
The ThinkEdge SE60n Gen 2 is a higher-end model aimed at high-load environments. It offers up to 97 TOPS of AI computing performance based on an Intel Core Ultra processor and an integrated NPU. On that basis, it performs tasks such as defect detection, machine vision and autonomous robotics. Its storage design combines NVMe SSD and SATA SSD to process large volumes of data with low latency, and a 28W TDP design reduces energy consumption.
The SE60n Gen 2 has an operating temperature range of -20 to 60 degrees and comes in 2.1-litre and 3.1-litre chassis options. A dual LAN configuration supports a failover function that automatically switches in the event of a fault, reducing downtime. Both products include hardware TPM 2.0 and a watchdog timer.
Sik Shin (신규식), head of Lenovo Korea, said, "As AI spreads across industry, the importance of edge computing is growing further because it can derive real-time insights and make immediate decisions at the site where data is generated." He added, "These new ThinkEdge products are an optimal solution that can innovate AI-based data processing and operational efficiency across a range of industrial sites such as manufacturing, logistics and retail, and Lenovo will continue to advance its AI-based edge computing capabilities to support companies in turning data into real-time insights and accelerating next-generation intelligent transformation."
