eBay said on Feb. 25 that the number of users of eBay eGS rose 91 percent from a year earlier in 2025. Total shipping volume also increased 41 percent. The company said it was the result of rising interest in overseas direct sales.

eBay eGS is an international delivery service operated jointly by logistics firm LincoS and eBay.

Data on usage by Korean sellers in 2025 showed shipments of the US Standard service rose 58 percent from a year earlier. Despite concerns over higher tariff burdens after the abolition of the de minimis duty exemption on Aug. 29, the number of U.S.-bound shipments more than doubled from September to December, the data showed.

eBay said an influx of sellers increased amid a stronger dollar. It also said Korean sellers actively responded by using Delivered Duty Paid, or DDP, shipping that includes tariffs, which helped offset tariff burdens.

Expansion beyond the United States also stood out. The number of CA Standard shipments to Canada rose 36 percent, and AU Standard shipments to Australia increased 23 percent. EU Standard shipments to Europe climbed 36 percent, and GB Standard, a delivery service to Britain, rose 38 percent.

Those countries are covered by eBayMag, a service supported by eBay. eBayMag automatically converts language and currency to list products registered on the U.S. site eBay.com on seven local eBay sites including Britain and France. The company analyzed the increase as reflecting the effect of a program that supports Korean sellers' expansion to other countries.

eBay eGS is moving to strengthen overseas delivery convenience in line with expanding cross-border sales demand. After cooperating with GS25 in 2024, it has signed delivery partnerships with CU and Emart24 starting last month.

Sellers can select convenience store delivery in the eGS system and then visit a nearby convenience store to submit parcels. Submitted items are moved to an Incheon logistics center, after which eBay eGS handles the entire process, including inspection, customs clearance and local delivery.

An eBay eGS official said, "With the help of a strong-dollar trend and support for activating overseas direct sales, overseas shipping volume through eGS is growing sharply from a year earlier." The official added, "We will continue to expand the eGS service so we can actively respond to cross-border sales demand through the upgrading of logistics infrastructure, including cooperation with the three major convenience store chains, and so sellers can focus on overseas sales without worrying about shipping."
