KT M Mobile said on Feb. 25 it updated its 'Mob' eSIM data roaming service and will run a discount promotion targeting spring overseas travel demand.
Mob applied a "simple registration" function to all devices to address difficulties that require scanning a QR code or directly entering an activation code when registering an eSIM. Users can now register an eSIM by tapping the simple registration button in the app without a separate complicated process.
It also expanded the countries supported for "pre-activation checks" that allow users to confirm in advance in South Korea whether the eSIM works properly before departure. The service coverage was expanded to Chinese-speaking markets such as China and Macau, enabling stable data use immediately upon arrival.
KT M Mobile will run a spring early-bird promotion on Naver Smart Store through March 4. It will offer discounts of up to 25 percent for purchases of 1+1 products for 8 countries including major Asian destinations such as Japan, Vietnam, Thailand and China, as well as the United States.
Kwang-kyu Lee (이광규), head of the Business Operations Division at KT M Mobile, said, "We are continuously strengthening the service to provide a stable data-use environment throughout the entire process from pre-departure preparation to local use." He added, "We hope you prepare for a spring vacation with loved ones such as family and partners with Mob."
