KT said on Tuesday it will showcase its premium table-order service, Hi-Order, at MWC26, which runs from March 2 to 5 in Barcelona, Spain.

Hi-Order is a service that processes ordering and payment at once through a tablet installed at a store table. Since its launch in May 2023, adoption has expanded beyond the food service industry to hotels, hospitals, postpartum care centers and leisure facilities, among other sectors.

KT prepared the exhibition under the concept of "a day in the life of an office worker in Gwanghwamun." It will let visitors experience ordering menu items directly through a Hi-Order device. It will introduce on the global stage the digital ordering environment commonly used at South Korean stores.

KT said it has prepared 13 foreign-language options for Hi-Order as the number of foreign visitors to South Korea increases, allowing global customers to order easily without staff assistance. Users can switch languages instantly on the screen, and the user interface shows food visuals intuitively to create an ordering environment where customers choose while viewing photos.

Hi-Order can also create and apply images for new menu items immediately through an AI-based image generation function. It raised order accuracy with detailed option settings such as vegan and allergy choices. It also provides a split-payment function that can be selected directly at the table.

Kang Yi-hwan (강이환), head of KT's small business unit, said, "Hi-Order is a platform that is expanding the everyday digital experience of South Korean stores into a global standard." He said, "Through MWC, we plan to inform the world of the competitiveness of K-food service tech and examples of digital transformation among small business owners."
