NHN said on Thursday it joined the Blue Light Campaign to mark the 18th World Autism Awareness Day by using the exterior of its Pangyo headquarters, Playmuseum.
April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day, designated by the United Nations to raise awareness of autism spectrum disorders and help autistic people and their families. The Blue Light Campaign is held every year, lighting up blue lights symbolising interest in and understanding of them at landmarks around the world.
NHN has taken part in the campaign since 2019. This year, it lit bulb-shaped lights on the building exterior for 2 hours from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, using interior lighting and louvers at Playmuseum.
NHN is also taking part in environmental campaigns using its headquarters in addition to the Blue Light Campaign. On March 28, it joined a 1-hour full lights-out as part of Earth Hour, an environmental campaign run by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It plans to join a lights-out campaign on April 22, Earth Day, as well.
An NHN official said, "By taking part in campaigns using our headquarters, we are working to raise awareness of social and environmental issues among employees and local residents." The official added, "We plan to continue carrying out activities that can contribute to solving problems."
