LG Innotek is expanding its social contribution program, "i Dream Up", to Vietnam. The company said on Thursday it signed a memorandum of understanding with global nonprofit international relief and development NGO World Vision at World Vision's headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul.

Under the agreement, the two sides will 추진 social contribution projects for children and adolescents in Haiphong, Vietnam, where LG Innotek has its largest global production base. "i Dream Up" is a social contribution activity launched last year and carries a double meaning of Eye and Kids. The company said it reflects LG Innotek's business characteristics in optics, including camera modules.

In South Korea, it runs a "child and adolescent blindness prevention project" and "Junior Sonamu Class", a materials and components education program. So far, about 400 children and adolescents in South Korea have received support for surgery and treatment costs for eye diseases, and about 18,000 have participated in Junior Sonamu Class.

This time, the projects include an "eye health support project" and a "school psychological counselling room development project". It will conduct ophthalmic checkups at 8 elementary and middle schools in Ngo Quyen district in Haiphong and support eye treatment, including surgery and provision of medicines. At 4 schools, it will provide infrastructure needed to build counselling rooms, including installation of counselling equipment and provision of educational materials related to mental health. LG Innotek plans to expand "i Dream Up" activities to areas where it has major global production bases, including Mexico.

Baek-su Jo (조백수), head of management support and an executive director, said, "Through the 'i Dream Up' activities, we hope children who will lead future generations can regain eye health and dream of a brighter future through better educational opportunities." He said, "We will continue sincere social contribution activities that illuminate the future and carry on happiness."
