Google has added an automated workflow creation feature to its vibe coding app Opal, TechCrunch reported on Feb. 24. Opal supports users in developing mini apps through text input alone and using them to plan and execute tasks. The update lets users build complex workflows without technical knowledge.
Google introduced a feature that uses the Gemini 3 Flash model to automatically select tools and execute tasks. For example, an e-commerce app can use Google Sheets to manage shopping lists and maintain memory across sessions. The new agent plans the next steps on its own and interacts by asking users for input or offering choices when additional information is needed.
Opal first launched in the United States in July 2025. Users can create mini web apps or remix existing apps. It expanded in October to 15 countries including Canada, India, Japan and South Korea, and in December it was integrated into the Gemini web app, making it possible for users to create custom apps with a visual editor without code.
