Posco Future M said on Feb. 24 it held a regular board meeting and approved an agenda item to recommend candidates for inside and outside directors to be submitted to its regular shareholders meeting in March. It newly recommended Kim Sung-jin (김성진), head of the Planning and Support Division, as an inside director, Lee Sang-young (이상영), a professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Yonsei University, as an outside director, and Jung Seok-mo (정석모), head of the Business Synergy Division at Posco Holdings, as a non-executive director.

Kim previously served as head of finance at Posco E&C, head of finance at Posco, and head of the Corporate Citizenship Office at Posco International. The company said it expects him to lead profitability improvement and growth based on his experience in finance and accounting.

Lee is a secondary battery materials expert who won the 2025 Battery Technology Award from the Electrochemical Society. He is a full member of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology and will serve as vice president of the Korean Electrochemical Society in 2026. The company said it expects him to support efforts to secure competitiveness.

Jung served as head of Posco's industrial gas business unit and head of the secondary battery materials business office, promoting new business development and expansion in global markets. The company said it expects him to contribute to enhancing corporate value based on his experience and understanding of the secondary battery materials business.

Posco Future M also re-nominated CEO Eom Gi-cheon (엄기천) as an inside director and outside directors Yoon Tae-hwa (윤태화) and Lee Bok-sil (이복실). The newly recommended candidates are expected to be formally appointed at the regular shareholders meeting on March 26. The board also approved an agenda item to approve the 2025 financial statements. It also decided to submit to the shareholders meeting a proposal to revise part of the articles of incorporation to reflect the establishment in November last year of the board-level ESG Committee and Evaluation and Compensation Committee.
