Coupang Eats Service (CES) said on Wednesday it will implement a "First-half 2026 free safety inspection program for delivery partners."

The first-half inspections began last month in the Gunpo area and will be carried out sequentially through June for delivery partners in 15 regions, including the Seoul metropolitan area such as Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon, as well as major cities nationwide including Cheongju, Changwon and Jeonju. Coupang Eats Service has run free safety inspection programs every year in the first and second halves since 2023 through on-site inspections. The program is for delivery partners with a record of making deliveries for Coupang Eats.

The company said the program focuses on preventing risk factors that could lead to accidents by checking major causes of motorcycle breakdowns in advance. Inspections are conducted through systematic, detailed checks by maintenance experts from the Korea Motorcycle Maintenance Association. It checks key elements directly linked to motorcycle driving safety, including braking systems, tyres, lighting equipment, noise and exhaust emissions, and steering systems. Depending on results, key consumables such as engine oil, brake pads, air-cleaner filters and spark plugs can also be replaced free of charge after a condition diagnosis.

In the first-half inspections, CES will run traffic safety education and health screening programs in some regions. CES plans to work with the Road Traffic Authority to provide traffic safety education and to provide safety gear to delivery partners who complete the training. It will also conduct health screenings in cooperation with Gyeonggi Medical Center. Under the program, a screening bus operated by Gyeonggi Medical Center and professional medical staff will visit sites.

A Coupang Eats Service official said, "The safety of delivery partners is an important foundation for service operations," and added, "We will continue working to improve the delivery environment through free safety inspections and education."
