Virtualisation and cloud company Namutech said on Wednesday it appointed Kim Hwa-joong (김화중) as its new president. It plans to shift to a co-CEO structure after completing procedures through a shareholders meeting and the board of directors.
Kim, the new president, is an IT professional who has built a career for about 25 years at global consulting firms and major domestic systems integration companies. He graduated from Seoul National University and earned an EMBA master's degree at KAIST. He led digital innovation projects in finance and industry at Samsung SDS, Accenture and SK C&C, now SK AX. He has overseen the company’s strategy and overall operations since April 1.
Namutech said the appointment will help it expand the application of its existing portfolio across industries including manufacturing, finance and the public sector. The portfolio includes the cloud-native platform-as-a-service Cocktail Cloud, the enterprise AI agent platform NAA (Namu AI Agent), and the edge AI solution NEA (Namu Edge AI).
Kim said he will pursue business expansion centred on AI and cloud by combining Namutech’s technological capabilities with field-focused business experience. He said he will build a stable operational foundation through close cooperation with the organisation and sustain growth.
