Dassault Systemes said on Feb. 24 it introduced AI-based “virtual companions” on its 3DEXPERIENCE platform that can be used for professional design work.

The virtual companions offered by Dassault Systemes come in three versions: Aura, Leo and Marie. The company said Aura orchestrates knowledge and context across requirements, projects and changes, helping teams manage complexity and stay aligned.

Leo solves complex engineering challenges across various engineering fields from design to production. Marie uses deep scientific expertise in materials, chemistry, formulation and therapeutics to explore complex phenomena, generate advanced questions and examine hypotheses.

Dassault Systemes said the virtual companions go beyond large language models, combining industry world models, AI, and multi-scale, multi-discipline modelling and simulation verified by physical laws and materials science. It said they were built on scientific foundations and decades of accumulated industrial-level knowledge.

"Virtual companions understand and reason about user intent and orchestrate actions across the entire lifecycle, from conception of products and services to use and regeneration," it said. "They ensure accuracy, traceability and reliability, and simulate actions and outcomes before they physically exist."

The virtual companions can be used with all Dassault Systemes brands across a wide range of industries. Aura is already available on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, and Leo and Marie are expected to be available through the 3DEXPERIENCE platform in 2026.
