[DigitalToday reporter Jin-ho Lee] The Ministry of Science and ICT's Postal Service said on Tuesday it will run the "EMS Premium Spring Sending" event through next month’s 31st, offering fee discounts to customers who send EMS Premium items at post office counters.
At post offices nationwide, it will offer a basic 5,000 won discount per item regardless of weight or destination country. Any individual customer sending goods overseas (non-document items excluding letters and other correspondence) can receive the benefit.
Customers can receive a maximum discount of 10,000 won, with an additional 5,000 won off when sending EMS Premium items to five major countries with high customer demand: the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany and France.
Postal Service chief Park In-hwan (박인환) said, "With Family Month approaching, this benefit is intended to ease the burden on people sending gifts overseas, so we ask for your support."
Details of the EMS Premium Spring Sending event can be confirmed at post office counters nationwide, on the Internet Post Office website and through the Korea Post Customer Satisfaction Center.
