Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and OpenAI said on Feb. 24 they signed the Frontier Alliance partnership to support companies’ enterprise-wide AI transformation (AX).

The partnership aims to combine BCG’s industry, functional and technology consulting expertise with OpenAI’s AI research and product capabilities to help companies move beyond experimentation and achieve AX at enterprise scale. The two companies will operate integrated end-to-end teams, covering AI strategy development, operating model redesign and industry-specific workflow optimisation.

Dylan Bolden (딜런 볼든), BCG’s global chair of functional consulting, said, "Frontier Alliance will combine BCG’s expertise and OpenAI’s research capabilities to accelerate the enterprise-wide spread of AI impact."

Brad Lightcap (브래드 라이트캡), OpenAI’s chief operating officer, said, "By combining BCG’s corporate innovation and global execution capabilities with OpenAI’s product leadership, we will be able to close the gap between the technical possibilities of frontier AI and real companies’ adoption of agents."

The two companies said many firms are having difficulty expanding AX due to the mixing of individual AI tools, complex systems integration and a lack of enterprise-wide governance. Sylvain Duranton (실뱅 뒤랑통), global leader of BCG X, said, "For the potential of AI agents to translate into tangible value, design and build suited to the scale of the enterprise and organisational-level adoption must proceed in parallel."
