Asung Daiso said on Feb. 24 it plans to launch Kkakkkeun Nara sanitary pads priced at 1,000 won for a 10-pack in May.

The product is made 100 percent in South Korea by Kkakkkeun Nara and will cost 100 won per pad. That is up to 60 percent cheaper than Kkakkkeun Nara sanitary pads currently sold at Daiso.

Kkakkkeun Nara sanitary pads currently sold at Asung Daiso are: 2,000 won for a 10-pack of medium pads (200 won each); 1,000 won for a four-pack (250 won each); 2,000 won for a 10-pack of large pads (200 won each); and 1,000 won for a four-pack (250 won each).

The company said it made the product so anyone can buy it without hesitation even if they cannot afford to buy in bulk or need it urgently. Sanitary pads generally have a lower per-unit price when purchased in large quantities, but it set the price with a small 10-pad pack so customers can buy what they need without burden.

An Asung Daiso official said, "As the era of high prices continues, we heavily recognise customers' burden over rising prices of daily necessities." The official added, "Daiso will continue to uphold its uniform pricing policy and work to provide practical help to price stability and the household economy."
