KT's new CEO Park Yoon-young (박윤영) visited information security and network operations sites as his first official schedule shortly after taking office as CEO.
On Monday morning, after being appointed CEO at a regular shareholders' meeting, Park headed to KT's Network and Security Control Centre in Gwacheon, south of Seoul, without holding a separate inauguration event. KT said it reflected his determination to make network stability and security competitiveness, which underpin telecoms services, the top management priorities.
After arriving, Park greeted and encouraged employees working 24-hour overnight shifts. He then listened to a briefing on overall operations and inspected key facilities and real-time operational status. He also visited the Security Operations Centre and the integrated IT control room to personally check pre-emptive blocking processes and emergency response systems against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
Park said, "Operating a stable network in any environment and responding thoroughly on security is the true starting point for restoring customer trust." He added, "We will continue to strengthen a fast, execution-oriented response system centred on the front line and fulfil our responsibility as Korea's leading ICT infrastructure company."
