Business data platform company Kucon said on Monday it supported a paperless issuance service to simplify the issuance process for Woori Card’s freight welfare card and digitised the card issuance procedure.

The freight welfare card is a specialised card product provided to help reduce fuel costs for freight transport workers and support welfare benefits.

Woori Card introduced Kucon APIs into the issuance process for its "Card of the Optimal Freight Welfare Card" to digitise the existing document-based application process. It improved convenience for freight operators seeking to obtain the card and also simplified the card issuer’s internal screening process.

Kucon provided Woori Card with an integrated vehicle registration record inquiry API, a business registration certificate inquiry API, and a freight truck information inquiry and issuance API. As a result, operators can apply for card issuance by entering only a vehicle number and owner information, without submitting separate documents such as a vehicle registration certificate or a business registration certificate.

Kucon Chief Executive Kim Jong-hyun (김종현) said, "Implementing the paperless issuance process for Woori Card’s freight welfare card is an example showing that Kucon APIs can improve both customer experience and operational efficiency in real-world financial services." He added, "As mentioned at our regular IR event, Kucon will continue to discover new businesses and steadily advance its data APIs so it can expand beyond digital transformation in the financial sector to AI-based operational innovation (AX)."
