A system will be introduced that allows post office parcel customers to book and pay for shipments through Naver’s platform.

The Ministry of Science and ICT’s Postal Service will introduce the “Post Office Parcel Naver Booking” service from March 31 to make it easier to send registered parcels accepted at post office counters. The service allows customers to book and pay directly from Naver’s search bar.

Previously, customers could book registered parcel shipments at post office counters only after separately accessing the post office website or app. Going forward, they can use the service by searching for terms such as “post office” or “post office parcel” in Naver’s search bar. The Postal Service expects using Naver, the country’s largest portal, to improve customer access and simplify the acceptance process.

After entering item information and recipient details and making payment via Naver Booking, customers who visit a post office can send parcels easily using only a phone number without needing to write the address on site. This is also expected to significantly reduce waiting times at counters.

To mark the introduction of the Naver Booking service, the Postal Service will offer a 5 percent discount on parcel fees through the end of May to users who book and complete payment for registered parcels at counters via Naver.

Postal Service chief Park In-hwan (박인환) said it focused on lowering barriers for customers by providing post office services through Naver, a platform people frequently use in daily life. He said it would continue to develop digital postal services that put public convenience first.
