[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Fasoo is changing its name to FasooAI and will shift in earnest into a company that supports AX, or AI innovation. Fasoo on Monday approved an agenda item to change its name to FasooAI at its 26th annual general meeting held in the morning.

FasooAI said the new name reflects a vision for Fasoo, which has built an independent position in the global data security and management market, to step up as a company that supports customers' AX, the company said.

Since its founding in 2000, Fasoo has accumulated understanding, experience and expertise in enterprise IT environments. Starting with the launch of a personal data protection solution using generative AI in 2022, it has expanded its business into AI by launching 'Ellm', an enterprise (on-premises) LLM, and securing multiple customer references.

More recently, it announced the launch of an enterprise AI solutions company, 'Symbologic', through a merger of its U.S. unit, and is also preparing AX support for global customers as well as domestic ones. Symbologic, which is set to launch next month through the merger of Fasoo's U.S. unit and local AI platform and consulting company Konsilix, plans to expand its global customer base based on business-ready agentic AI applications and strategies that can be applied directly to business.

FasooAI, which is accelerating its shift into an AX support company, will actively strengthen related businesses from the name change as a starting point. It will expand its portfolio to support AI adoption through an enterprise AI platform and agentic AI, and to secure AI governance and manage and protect AI-ready data. It also plans to expand its consulting business to serve as a reliable partner for achieving 'safe AX'.

Fasoo CEO Gyu-gon Cho (조규곤) said, "Fasoo, which has pioneered the global data security market, is changing its name to FasooAI to reflect its determination to be reborn as an AI company beyond a security company after 26 years since its founding." He said, "Fasoo will add the wings of AI to the data management and security capabilities it has built up, and will continue to present customers with the safest and most efficient path to AX."
