[DigitalToday reporter Sangyeop Oh] Bithumb said on Sunday it held an equipment handover ceremony with the SSG Landers to support women’s baseball.
The ceremony was held before the start of the home-opening game on March 28 at Incheon SSG Landers Field. The donation was raised through the fan-participation “Bithumb Donation Challenge” campaign held twice last year.
The 40 million won donation raised through the challenge was used to purchase 7,500 baseballs. The baseballs will be delivered to the Korea Women's Baseball Federation (WBAK) and the Cheonan Junior Women's Baseball Team, the country's only girls' youth baseball club, to help improve players' training conditions and performance.
A Bithumb official said, “We are glad to be part of a meaningful occasion where donations gathered through fans’ warm participation are delivered to women’s baseball players.” The official added, “We will continue to contribute to spreading a healthy donation culture through various social contribution activities.”
